[gallery type="slideshow" link="file" ids="322,323,325,327,328,326,324"] H2 Systems attended the 2013 CEDIA EXPO last week in Denver Colorado. Over the past year, our team submitted six projects for consideration into the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyle Awards. We are proud to announce that we won Gold for Best Technical Design for our custom home theatre design.
How We Did It
This high performance system centres around the 120 diagonal 2.35:1 Microperf screen by Stewart Filmscreen. The speakers hidden behind the screen provide acoustic transparency that allows the sound to perfectly line up with the image. The two ten inch subwoofers are built into the pilasters to the left and right of the screen and are concealed behind acoustic fabric. There are three pairs of in-wall speakers that are unseen within the room. The audio/video equipment is placed in a centralized equipment room and is fully controlled with a Crestron remote control.
Our client preferred cork flooring to allow for easy clean up of spills and accidents. Cork flooring is a challenging product to use in order to achieve optimal sound quality. We used absorptive acoustic treatments and acoustical wall panels to optimize the sound of room. Additionally, there were two large windows which brought in a lot of natural light. To overcome this challenge silent operating motorized blackout shades were used. The final challenge was the client's desire to have a stadium feel to the room. We designed the seating in rows which started with 3 seats in the front and ending with 5 seats at the rear to create this experience with the limited space.
